The mission of the EDUinnovate Foundation is to stimulate innovation and support excellence in education, both in Ellington and beyond, by providing funding for projects and programs that enhance the educational experience for public school students.

The EDUinnovate Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. It is registered with the State of Connecticut and with the Internal Revenue Service 501(c)3 and is bound by their regulations. The Foundation is a non-political entity, independent of both the Board of Education and town government. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors whose members includes Ellington business persons, parents of current students, and other community leaders. Ex-officio board members include the Superintendent of Schools for the Town of Ellington, Chairperson of the Ellington Board of Education, Select person of the Town of Ellington, and a student representative approved by the Board of Directors.
The specific objectives of the Foundation are as follows:
- To stimulate innovation and support excellence in education.
- To fund innovative projects and programs that enhance the educational experience for public school students.
- To recruit volunteers to support its mission.
- To raise funds to support its mission.
